Reading Reflection #5
1. Evolution of Realism (p.139).
2. There are different types of realism (p. 142).
3. Perspective is not only how you view things but strategies on how we can see two-dimensional (p. 148).
4. Perspective involving the body (p. 153).
5. "The camera obscure is based on the phenomenon that light rays bouncing of a well-lit object or scene, when passed into a darkened chamber through a tiny hole, create an inverted projection that can be seen on a surface inside the chamber" (p. 156).
6. Perspective has a tight connection with technology (p. 158).
7. Change in perspective happen especially when it comes to digital media (p. 166).
Reflection:
I understand that when society is changing, things or even people around and in it are changing as well. So I know that in perspective it obviously is changing depending on the use of technology. Digital media has also changed perspective. "Digital imaging presents new modes through which the viewer can experience a multiplicity of perspectives on a multiplicity of virtual worlds within the same screen" (p.166). How is that possible? Does technology allow the advancement of "multiplicity of perspectives?" It was also interesting to learnt that video games are just a compile of virtual images put together. Thousands and thousands of images! Its that at all possible, and if so, how?
